God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Psalms 46:1 NIV

Our world has been chaotic lately. From the global health crisis to growing awareness of racial injustice to divisive political opinions, it feels like hope is far off. But as Christians, we know that we have access to an unshakable hope. No matter what happens around us, we know that God is working in us, giving us the power and desire to do what pleases Him—even when it’s difficult or overwhelming.

So, what can we do? How can we respond when things feel out of control?

Read the Bible. Read the book of Psalms. Open up the Word and start.  let’s remember who God is. He is our Heavenly Father. Our ever-present help in time of trouble. Our never-changing, almighty, powerful God who isn’t surprised by anything happening throughout His world, all that is portrayed on the news and social media, He is aware of every fact and all of the fiction.

Actually just repeating that after writing it bolsters my heart, deep gratitude and praise for the Lord most high.

John 16:33 TPT And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in Me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in Me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!

In times of uncertainty and unrest, it’s helpful to remember that this world is not our home. Therefore, this world cannot be our source of hope. And that’s incredible news my friends because our world, our leaders, and our politics make terrible saviors. Only Jesus Christ saves. He is all that is all that was all that will ever be.

We get to know Him, spend time with Him! Anytime anywhere we can have an eternal perspective, trusting in the confident hope we have through Jesus.

That Hope isn’t a feeling; it’s a Person. And we find hope by reminding ourselves of the truth of God’s Word and putting our full faith and trust in God. Check out what God wrote through Apostle Paul in the book of Romans:

Romans 15:13 NLT  I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of Holy Spirit.

God let’s us know He is the source of our hope—not political outcomes or good circumstances.

We know the burden living in these times can seem too huge to dismantle,  So, how do we receive that hope, joy, and peace? By trusting Jesus.

It’s not always easy to trust God in the middle of our trials. But when we do, hallelujah! we can experience His presence, His peace, His joy, and His hope.
