How Intentional Are We

So Jesus went over it again, I speak to you eternal truth: I am the Gate for the flock. All those who broke in before Me are thieves who came to steal, but the sheep never listened to them. I am the Gateway. To enter through Me is to experience life, freedom, and satisfaction. A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect —life in its fullness until you overflow!  John 10:7-10 TPT

Without Jesus our lives would mean nothing, will have no kingdom impact and will lack fulfillment.

Jesus teaches us in John 6 that he is the Bread of Life and that whoever went to him would never hunger or thirst again. Jesus by using the analogy of bread asks us to make Him our “staple”. As important as bread is for our households so also is Jesus vital to our very existence. 

In accepting Him as our Lord and Savior, we receive the gift of eternal life. While eternity is our assured destination we need Jesus in our everyday to help us live joyfully and purposefully for our time here. 

How intentional are we in walking everyday with Jesus. Do we carve out time for moments with Him, do we prioritize prayer and worship in our schedules ? Or better yet do we allow ourselves spontaneous song while we travel through the days list of to do’s -  Is Jesus our staple or our back up? 

A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance. I am the Good Sheperd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.  John 10:10-11 CSB

God teaches that although the enemy has come to steal, kill and destroy, Jesus Christ has come to give us abundant life. Jesus is the Gate for the sheep and our Good shepherd while we - His people - are the sheep.  

That gives me such faith! A persevering faith that keeps me moving forward when I want to freeze in my tracks - That we have a caretaker that created us, understands us, knows our name, forgives us, protects us….
